My point being is that its too basic. A lot of money for virtually no cover.

It's actually FLEE cover (not FLEA), which stands for Fire, Lightning, Earthquake, Explosion. These are explicitly the only perils covered, nothing more.

Impact cover won't be provided under FLEE, so it wouldn't have covered an aircraft landing on you.

I think you are wrong, I just cut and paste from the insurance . I remember joking with the broker about airplanes

Cover may be restricted to ‘Fire Lightning, Explosions and Aircraft’ – FLEA cover
Cover for the ‘wet perils’ can also be included – storm, tempest, escape of water

That is so true, I couldn't believe that very few wanted to cover an empty property. Also they all wanted a year up front, then you have the problem of getting unused money back, unexpected admin fees (plus losing interest on your cash :money: )

Aircraft damage is FLEA not FLEE!

    From FAQs on line

What is FLEA, and what cover is included in FLEA?

FLEA cover stands for Fire, Lightning, Explosion, Earthquake and Aircraft. If you are covered for FLEA only, it means that these are the only perils covered, however public liability is still included.

Quentin, I was not aware FLEA was a 'thing', I'd historically only dealt with FLEE.

Thank you for your help with this. The insurer was happy to cover the property during the building works with no change in premium.
