We have asked for
7 ceiling light fittings
9 wall lights
1 2 gang dolly light switch
1 outside light to be fitted.
1 new socket fitted. It has to be brought from the room next door, but the new socket will be directly in front of the socket already in that room.
Getting rid of 3 tv cables and 3 random electrical wires sticking out of ceilings. We don't know what they were for!
We have been quoted £800-900 for this.
It seems an awful lot to me! We are in the South West, so not premium prices.
Is this about right? Thanks so much.

I am providing all the fittings. He is swapping like with like, so taking a ceiling light or wall light down and replacing it with another one. The only new thing is the socket. What more do I need to tell you? Thanks.0

There is quite a lot of work in installing all the fittings you are supplying
How far have you asked the electrician to take back the tv cables and random wires sticking out of ceilings? If you want them removing right back to their source, this could be a lot of work including lifting and refitting carpets and floors. If you are happy for them to be made safe and pushed back inside the ceiling, the cost will be very much less. I think the quote is about right if you are expecting the electrician to take the floor up and remove the old wires completely. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0 -
Ah, no he isn't removing floors or anything. Just making safe.0
