Hi, Im looking for any advice regarding starting a mis sold PPI from the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce UK and the Amsterdam Rotterdam Bank. Back in 1987 after uni we moved to london and purchase our first home. we needed a 100% mortgage and arranged this with CIBC 95% and AMRO 5% we had this mortgage for 4/5 years then moved on to other lenders etc. I believe we paid PPI or equivalent but cant find any mortgage details etc. IWe would like to pursue a claim against each bank but would really appreciate any advice about how to go about this. Hoping someone can give us some direction. Many thanks

They won't have any records after 30 years.
Did you have mis sale reasons? Are you sure it was PPI? Mortgage indemnity sounds more likely on a 100% mortgage.0 -

In 1987 PPI was still very rare and the fact that you say you had a 100% mortgage would strongly suggest that the only likely insurance you would have been required to take would have been Mortgage Indemnity Guarantee. Even if you had documentation showing this, MIG protects the lender rather than the customer and so cannot be mis-sold.
In addition, three decades on, there will no longer be any records of this finance kept by any of the institutions you list in your post.
