I didn't phrase it strangely or wrong. You're conflating company with business. If you disagree, then please explain why you said a sole trader is a company and that they'd need to be a company or be acting illegally.0 -
Here's a thought, if you're trying to contact the actual videographer, ask your stills photographer who may remember their name/recognise them, and be able to pass a request to get in touch for you. They're more likely to have his name and details as frankly they worked in conjunction and were not guests.0

Strangely enough all this posting which he has seen has prompted him to at least refund in full.
Thanks for all the advice.
Just hoping we see the video one dayJust muddling through this thing called adulting...0 -
Update on this is there are now several reviews on TrustPilot showing that the company is terrible and the man in charge not paying any of his freelancers.

The man in question sent me the number of the videographer to chase on my own as he has 'given up' and the videographer has told me he is unable to locate it.
At this point I have to sit and realise that I have lost the one day of footage I can never recreate.
It hurts me to my very core and I am just incredibly annoyed with myself. Not sure how I'm supposed to just go on knowing I was scammed - especially with something I can't get back.Just muddling through this thing called adulting...0 -

The OP doesn't actually have any rights to be given the raw footage (unless the contract specifically said all footage would be handed over along with the edited video). So regardless of whether or not they manage to get in touch with the person who actually holds the original footage, they don't have to hand it over.0 -

Have you considered offering the money you've had refunded to the videographer? It might just "jog his memory" and he might suddenly find the footage.0
