Section 75 situation with two credit cards

Hi,

What's the situation with Section 75 protection when I split a purchase across two credit cards? If I have any issues are both companies equally liable for the full amount, some percentage, or will they just argue about who should cover any issues?

Thanks,
Julian.

Who will let you pay by two different cards?
    Unless its face to face?

Personally I would not want the hassle of one playing you off the other - find a card with a high enough limit and put it on one card IMO.

Both are responsible for the full amount of your loss. So you could choose just to claim from one of the CCs. If they went bust (unlikely a CC would go bust...) then you could claim the full amount from the other. Or you can claim from both.

However you cannot profit from this - ie in total you cannot claim more than the amount you lost. So if you claim from both, you cannot receive anything more that your total loss. So it would be up to the CCs to decide how to split it.

    1 deposit? 1 remaining amount?

I'm pretty sure, I paid for my last car with 3 cards: deposit on one (collecting airmiles), allowed amount on second (hotel points) and then rest on debit card. I just wanted to use advantage of points/miles collection.
