The last time I got the engine to run after sitting idle I did encounter an issue whereby the car wasn't able to set off, whilst sitting at the wheel it had felt as if something was locking the rear in place. I had someone inspect the car from the outside whilst giving the gas pedal a thrust and was informed that the right rear wheel showed no signs of moving whilst the others did. Would this be a case of 'sticking brakes'? If so, how would I go about tackling the issue.

    Thanks again!

You'd have to take the wheel off and give the brakes a good clean using brake cleaner and make sure handbrake cable isn't sticking either. In short I'd get someone competent to do this if you are not familiar with these things just to be safe.

If after cleaning it still sticks then you may need to replace the brake pads and/or caliper.

Yes. Quite likely to be the handbrake shoes stuck.
Normally they will ping free with a bit of rocking, you can also assist by tapping with a rubber mallet. If still no joy they need taking apart and cleaning/ replacing.
