Going to Cambridge for the day in June for a graduation. Normally I'd use park and ride but we're spending the day there and meeting family at the Hilton Doubletree for an evening meal, and 79 year old Nan doesn't want to be faffing around at that time of night getting back to the car after a long day.
Does t anyone know any long stay parking close to the Doubletree that can be prebooked? And hopefully won't break the bank.
Thanks all.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I suspect it may be full that day - it's not huge and the hotel will be full. I could check if they'll let me reserve a space.
Not familiar with parkopedia, will have a look.
Was hoping for some local knowledge if possible.

Cant help you as to where to park as I dont know Cambridge that well but I do have to work there sometimes and I am always shocked how much it costs to park for a couple of hours

Looks like it;s 19.50 to park for 24 hours at the hotel, has to be the easiest option

Cambridge is impossible for parking. The closest free place is near the football stadium but I don't think that will do. I'd go onto one of those parking payment places where you can have someone's drive.
Can we just take it as read I didn't mean to offend you?

Cambridge parking is extortionate, can't help any and i'm a local(ish). You're best sucking it up and paying for it at the hotel. The parking area is fairly big if i remember rightly and a bit of a mare to find for some.

No. She can walk ok but it's just going to be a long day so traipsing back to the park and ride at 9 or 10ish doesn't appeal.

Maybe a taxi back to the park and ride?

There's no decent long term parking likely to be free on graduation days near the Senate House. Park n Ride is likely to be the best solution, and you could use a taxi back , as MM suggests above.

You can always go and collect the car yourself, then drive in to collect the oldies. It's a lovely walk across to the Backs and Queen's Road, easily reached by car. Traffic will be quiet by then.... aside from a few students falling into the road/river/each other. Leave Nan nursing a brandy, get the car and pick her up from the hotel. It's easy to reach from the Park n Rides on that side of town!
