Harassment by Private Parking Co

Problem is with these collection agents is that they are not regulated and they don't come under the remit of the FCA.
I have tried hard to find a body that I could complain to about them and the CAB did forward my complaint to Trading Standards. Problem is that you never really know the outcome.
On another post Coupon Mad advised a poster to go through the Protocol with a fine toothcomb which I did and I found that advice very useful. I also looked at the IPC Code of Conduct. In this code of conduct the PCC and their agents are required to act with professionalism. I have challenged this in my LBC.
I don't believe for one moment that the PCC's read any of the correspondence that they receive. I don't even believe that they read the letters that they sign as my LBC is addressed to Dear Sirs.
I am not legally qualified but I will stand up for myself but I hate to think what it must be like for someone who is vulnerable to have to engage with these vile companies who are lower than a snake's belly.

Update
Yesterday received a letter from BW Legal saying everything is on hold whilst they contact their client. Despite the big, bold writing at the start of my letter, they've still written direct to the RK at a slightly inaccurate address. Maximum points for actually reading what is written!
Today received another (purported) Letter of Claim from BW Legal - and guess where they sent it? Maximum points again for left hand to right hand communication plus bonus points for ignoring the 'when in a hole, stop digging' rule.
Anyone would think they want to provoke harassment and discrimination claims. Silly people.0 -
have you tried to get your MP on side ?
please watch and read the below ...

''Rip-offs from car park Cowboys must stop''; unfair treatment; signage deliberately confusing to ensure a PCN is issued; ''years of abuse by rogue parking companies''; bloodsuckers; ''the current system of regulation is hopeless, like putting Dracula in charge of the blood-bank''; extortionate fines; rogue operators; ''sense of injustice''; unfair charges and notices; wilfully misleading; signage is a deliberate act to deceive or mislead; ''confusing signs are often deliberate, to trap innocent drivers''; unreasonable; a curse; harassing; operating in a disgusting way; appeals service is no guarantee of a fair hearing; loathed; outrageous scam; dodgy practice; outrageous abuse; unscrupulous practices; ''the British Parking Association is as much use as a multi-storey car park in the Gobi desert''; and finally, by way of unanimous conclusion: ''we need to crack down on these rogue companies. They are an absolute disgrace to this country. Ordinary motorists and ordinary residents should not have to put up with this''.
These are the exact words used, so you should quote them to your MP in a complaint and ask him/her to contact Sir Greg Knight MP if he wants further information about this scam.
