E: 30/05 Win a luxury break in Alnwick, Northumberland
Sunday Times Where Was I? competition
The prize:
The winner and a guest will stay for three nights, B&B, at the Cookie Jar, a stylish boutique hotel that opened last year near Alnwick Castle. Debbie Cook, the owner, is an experienced hotelier and wife of the former CEO of Hotel du Vin and Malmaison. She has converted a convent into a cosy rustic-chic refuge with Hypnos beds, English bed linen and chunky overstuffed sofas. The Bistro serves light lunches and afternoon teas, and is open on Friday and Saturday evenings.
Alnwick Castle has been the home of the Percys since 1309, and was the scene of Harry’s first broomstick flight in the Harry Potter films. Beyond lies England’s most sparsely populated county — a place of wild moorland, empty beaches and magnificent monuments.
The prize includes one dinner for two (excluding drinks) and one afternoon tea for two. It must be taken before November 30, 2018, subject to availability and excluding public holidays.
