How to explain autism to a seven year old

Have a look at the short film, Amazing Things Happen. It was designed to inform people about autism and has won several awards. It's suitable for children - my Brownie unit watched it last year, and they are aged 7-10.

You don't need to label the autism.
You just need to say that everyone is different, and everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. Ask her what she is good at and what she finds hard.
