Help please

Hi,


Please could someone clarify something for me. I wish to use my 2008 low mileage car in with a dealer with a view of purchasing a 2010 car with them. However, I do not want a HP deal and i rather use the trade in value of my car to reduce the cost of the other car (a little!) and I pay the remaining value of the other car in cash.



Is this possible to do with a dealer?

    Do try several dealers, as the price for your car may vary a lot between them and the best deal may be just around the corner.
    I'm a retired IFA who specialised for many years in Inheritance Tax, Wills and Trusts. I cannot offer advice now, but my comments here and on Legal Beagles as Sam101 are just meant to be helpful. Do ask questions from the Members who are here to help.

    That doesn't help much if the car you want to buy is with the current dealer and not the one round the corner.

    Why on earth would you think that you can only buy a car from a dealer on HP?

    If you're that naive (no offence intended) I suggest you bring someone with you who knows what they're doing or the used car salesman will make a nice sizeable profit from you !
