Back in beginning of January a car reversed into the back of my ,which was parked ,I had the third party details and contacted my insurance company I have fully comprehensive cover.
All was fine my car went into repairers and was deemed an insurance write off ( cosmetic damage ) I had my car back ,as I can have it repaired myself .this is the drama my insurers deal with a claim management company and since the day we agreed the salvage value of my car I have been continually lied to eg 3rd party has admitted liability then days later no liability has been agreed cheque is being processed for you it hasn't they now won't return calls or emails .i can't get my car repaired until I have settlement this last communication was 3 rd party haven't admitted liability as they haven't heard from there client ,also they may pay out on a without prejudice basis the PAV ,I have been tod this 3 times to date can anyone point me in the right direction to get this resolved once and for all or am I just being impatient . Sorry for the long post !!

The only people who can resolve this for you are your insurance company. Keep at them!

No thats not true. Another and more effective route might be to claim directly from the third party as you have their details. Give them 14 days to pay or say you'll commence a court action. I've done that twice and it gets things moving along nicely.

Thanks both for the replies I will contact third party insurers on Tuesday
  • I meant claim directly from the third party rather than his/her insurers. If you try to claim from the TP's insurers and the TP is backtracking on liability or hasn't even informed them then it gives the TP's insurers an excuse to do nothing.

Agreed but OP has already started the process with their own insurance company. Your suggestion does work if OP can undo the claim process with their own insurance company.
