Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

did you look at the 3 wheeled mowers ?
I was thinking about getting one the time I got a new mower, just couldn't find a 50cm+ blade at right price
just looked easier to move round the trees & islands in/around the lawn

Made by Reliant?, ;). Actually it's not so daft an idea and does partly get round the issue of skidding 1 wheel round a tight turn, but no, never seen one.

I haven't because I don't find mains units have enough power let alone battery operated ones. Battery tools are superb, I have a full range of DeWalt kit, just don't think something you want higher power from and to be reliable for possibly 10 years is the place for battery tech (yet)
I don't agree with this. Most of today's cordless mowers are easily as powerful as their electric or petrol counterparts, at the end of the day you're just cutting grass after all. The main concern would be battery life and a lot wont do mulching.

Feel free to disagree, but I'm top gear school here, ie, POWER

  • We've recently bought a house with a large sloping garden and I eventually decided to take the plunge and go for an Ego self propelled.mower. They're not cheap but the 56 volt battery means they have plenty of oomph and I still have at least 25% of charge left in the battery after cutting the lawn and strimming the edges (at the time I bought it it they had a 'free' strimmer offer with every mower but I think that's finished now). The self propelled function operates independently of the blade, the power to the blade and wheels are controlled by 2 separate levers positioned so it's easy to either squeeze one of them or both at the same time. It does also have a mulching option but I've never used it.
