Delaly while porting phone number from Lycamobile to Giffgaff

Hello,
I bought a new Giffgaff SIM card and requested to port my existing number from Lycamobile into that SIM.
Lycamobile gave me the PAC code within 2 hours on 22nd May.
Giffgaff texted me saying the portability would be done on 23rd. I lost service with Giffgaff the night of 22nd. I also lost the service with my old provider (Lycamobile) the morning of the 23rd.
Since then, I haven't recovered my phone line. Which is worst, if I try to call my old number, a voice message says my number doesn't exist. Friends who tried to call me are asking me if I have changed number, I cannot access to any site that requires OTP verification like HMRC site or make transactions with my bank because of this issue.
Giffgaff says it is likely Lycamobile has not released all the required files
I am wondering what can I do at this stage. And how long I should wait before contacting the Ofcom or any other authority that can untie the mess.
I've ported numbers in the past and it usually takes hours. I'm getting holidays next week and wondering if I should buy a PAYG SIM to, at least, have phone line abroad.
Can I claim for compensation on this scenario?
Many thanks

Since you're leaving Lycamobile good luck in getting any compensation from them, just keep bugging GiffGaff.0
