Overstaying 30 Minute Tesco Car Park (No Ticket Yet - Just Curious)

I appreciate this is very early as the Registered Keeper doesn't have a ticket yet, but just wanted to ask briefly on the following scenario.
Tesco (Slough) allow you 30 minutes to park without validating your car reg plate. They print a voucher off at the till after spending >£5, allowing you to validate your car for a further 2h 30 (3 hours in total) free parking. The till prints a voucher which you can either validate in-store at a terminal or by midnight online via "ParkReg Tesco".
The car driver stayed for 31 to 33 minutes (1 to 3 minutes beyond the 30 minute cut-off not to validate your car at all) - including driving time from the entrance ANPR to the exit ANPR, which can easily be 2 minutes (Tesco Slough is the biggest Tesco in the country I believe). I believe the actual time within a marked bay is therefore within 30 minutes.
The car driver forgot to enter the car reg online by midnight and a couple of days have since passed. However the car driver still has the till receipt from Tesco which contains the code to validate parking for up to 3 hours. Obviously a 32 minute shop with a till receipt means the car driver was a genuine Tesco customer only. If the car driver had attempted to validate the ticket at the terminal on the way back to the car, no doubt it would have said "not required" after choosing the registration plate as it would have been under the 30 minute mark at that point. Google Maps actually has the stay at 28 minutes on the timeline but this does not include the parking up/walking back to the car period.
I'm getting slightly paranoid that an "invoice" will come through the post as a technical breach of 30 minutes. I won't be in the city anytime soon with regards to store manager / photographic proof of signs etc. Would common sense prevail in this case and can rest easy?

No need for all that detail.
Tesco use Highview, who fold when they see the template appeal from the NEWBIES thread, because Highview can't hold registered keepers liable (their choice - their PCN wording - and we use it against them).
So, by appealing as registered keeper using the template they've seen before - and thereby sending them the subliminal message that you are on MSE and will win at POPLA - you will win. Even if THE UNNAMED DRIVER had parked there all day.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Ok thank you. I only wanted to give some detail because I find a PCN even more antagonising when you are genuinely giving business to the retailer and they reward you with stress. I can't afford a PCN right now and for something like this which would be so ridiculous hence I've been in a worry about what might come through the post0 -

I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

That parking system in Slough Tesco is one of the reasons I don't go there, it's a nightmare.
You have to tap in your VRN onto a screen and then it comes up with about five ANPR photos of cars with similar plates, and you have to then choose yours.
Why when you have tapped in your VRN, the cynic in me wonders if they want people to make a mistake!0 -
On reading a thread regarding an overstay at Tesco 30 min parking restriction I notice a reference to a template to appeal this. As per the previous writer I have not yet received a PCN yet but wanted to be prepared if this happens. The reason for this text is that I do not know how to access this template on your site and would be obliged if you can instruct me about this. Kind Regards Mark Franklin0

If you go to the board index you will see a thread that tells Newbies to read it first. There is a template written in blue.
If you are struggling to find the index there is a link at the very top of every page.0 -

@ marktime
You look to have used your real name as your forum name AND posted it in full in your post
You need to urgently edit your post to remove your name and contact MSE to change your forum name to something anonymous
Also edit your post to remove details of who was driving
The ppcs monitor this forum and can use your posts against you
If after reading up on this in the FAQ you need more advice not covered in the FAQ then you should start your own thread0 -
I think the upshot of this thread is for all drivers using these type of car parks, is to carry some 2 inch gaffer tape in your vehicle, and cover up your number plate temporarily just before you leave, ripping it off quickly as soon as you are out of camera range of the ANPR, which pre empts any PCN's arriving as there's no proof of the length of stay.0

Sadly the industry is utterly rotten and rogue and there is no appeal worth trying now that POPLA is almost as bad as the IAS, so I can see why people get that desperate.
In my opinion, you don't have to show your personal data in a private car park (It's different on street). But we don't condone not paying a reasonable fee to park and have never posted or suggested anything like that.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
