Transfer direct debits without closing the account?

Options
Is it possible to transfer direct debits from the account I have with Lloyds to Natwest?

I am basically planning to open Natwest Reward account and sacrifice one less important account I have which is BOS vantage on which the interest will be reducing to mere 1.5% soon and which has a couple of £1DDs just for the sake of meeting the DD criteria, to get £100 bonus.

But my main account really is Lloyds Club account which I want to keep open for the cinema tickets. So I would like to do the DD transfer from it without however closing it.
Can it be done?

It can be done it is called a partial switch this will transfer all your direct debits over without closing your old account this might be the simplest way if you want to transfer all your direct debits

another way to do it is just simply to call up each organisation in turn and give them the account number and sort code of your new bank sounds a bit of a hassle but in fact it only takes a few minutes and a phone call for each one

Not sure if you are expecting any switching bonus from your new NatWest account but you won't get it unless you do a full switch which closes the old Lloyds account

I'm in the process of doing this now, same as you - wanting to keep my Club Lloyds. Remember you still need 2 Direct Debits on your Lloyds account and keep an eye on the pay ins for both accounts.

I'm transferring manually, on the day the DD leaves my Lloyds account, I'm checking its been taken on my statement, then contacting the company to change it over. For the majority of my bills, I have online login accounts where I can change direct debit details, and it is very straightforward. I'm waiting until the day/day after my original DD so there's no overlap or missed payments etc.

How I read it is that OP is switching a BoS a/c which will no longer pay great interest.
Of course you can manually switch DDs by contacting the company or if a savings a/c sorting yourself.

Not sure why you want to move DDs unless you are planning to get the Natwest cashback on household bills? If you want a free Natwest a/c you need a 'Select' account- no cashback- but equally no fees.
