Buyer Beware - Fraudulent Company Located In Tax Sheltered Andorra!

Buyers Beware of TyreLeader / DaekLeader!

I recently moved to Europe from Canada and I searched online for winter tires for our new family car. I researched prices and found 4 Continental Winter Contact TS tires through TyreLeader/DaekLeader at a great price.

I’m internet savvy (I’m a digital marketing strategist by trade) and have purchased items online many times in the past without issue. I know how to protect myself and what to watch for, but in spite of this, I’ve never been taken so advantage of the way TyreLeader/DaekLeader has taken advantage of me. And, because they are located in Andorra (which is not a member of the European Union), they have zero obligation to follow local consumer protection laws. …and they very clearly have no intention of doing so!

I only received my shipment in part!! I purchased 4 tires and only received 3 tires! To this day, 5 months later, I have not received a refund for the tire that I never received. Plus, I'm stuck with 1 tire that doesn't have its pair, so I had to go out and purchase 2 new winter tires from a legitimate EU company.

I have a signed delivery document from the transporter which clearly states I only received 3 tires! However, I guess since the document is in Danish (I live in Denmark), TyreLeader/DeakLeader doesn’t know what ‘kun 3 daek’ (only 3 tires) means?!

To good to be true prices! Do yourself a favour and avoid these crooks and all the headaches that come along with buying from them. Support a real EU company where you know the company isn’t trying to hide away from its obligations to the consumer.

  • I've used them lots of times and they have been great.

This is also a UK site - with you being a 'digital marketing strategist' (whatever that is) I would have thought you would have known that.

Perhaps you should post on a Danish consumer board?

"Internet savvy" yet you obviously didn't read up on the terms and conditions of the company you were dealing with.
The company has made no attempt to hide where they are located nor have they misrepresented the fact that any contract is governed by Andoran law.

These Terms and Conditions of Sale set out the conditions that apply to the purchase of goods of the company AD TYRES INTERNATIONAL SLU – referred hereinafter as «AD TYRES INTERNATIONAL SLU» or the «Company» - incorporated under the laws of Andorra and registered with the address of Carrer Bonaventura Armengol num 10, AD500 Andorra la Vella in Andorra with a capital of 100.000 EUR under the registration number NRT : L-711448-M Recording Date : 30/05/2016 at the Registration Office of Commerce.
    16. Applicable law and jurisdiction

The present General Terms and Conditions of Sale and the agreement between AD TYRES INTERNATIONAL SLU and the Customer are governed by Andorran law.

Even without reading the T&C's, a simple click on the "Contact us" tab shows their address.

That also appears to be a real name and a real photo. Are they yours? I wouldn't call that internet savvy to be honest. Forums are generally anonymous for a good reason.

Seems likely, at least they're definitely of a guy called Derick Snell.

Assuming you paid by card contact your card issuer for a partial chargeback.
  • I agree. I have also shopped online for snow socks and snow chains lots of times from UK site. I got a perfect size indeed and on time delivery.:)
