    Its HMRC you need to contact. They assess what taxes are due.

    Furthermore, I was advised the following by FedEx.
    If you wish to contest the valuation, you will need to supply evidence of the value you paid along with the copy of the supplementary declaration. This needs to be emailed to UKINVOICEQUERY@fedex.com and once they will take the matter up with HMRC.

    I have attached a copy of the Electronic Air Way Bill for you as well showing the value declared.

    This was from another FedEx employee I contacted in relation to my package being held up so long at customs. This person has been the only person who has been remotely helpful.
  • I received an email from a member of their customer experience recovery team this morning and, to their credit, they expedited things and the invoice has now been revised. It is now £27.13, instead of £155.24, which is more reflective of the value of the sandals.

    I am disappointed that it has taken so long to resolve but also pleased with the outcome.
