G24 in Wickes car park in company vehicle

Options
Been told via email from my company I have been issued a fixed fine or penalty notice for exceeding maximum time in a Wickes carpark in Scotland.
My company has already passed my details on to G24 as being the driver. My vehicle is a liveried company van.
I spent some time in Wickes pricing materials then saw a customer in the carpark and we chatted for ages.
Should the fact G24 know I’m the driver and in a liveried company vehicle make them more determined to take the case to court should I choose to ignore all letters.
Also should they contact my company again as this would not look good on myself.
I’m annoyed with this and did not park there to deceive them but just overstayed my time.
I don’t want to pay just because I hate these companies getting money but also I really don’t want a court summons as could affect my job within the company
Thoughts please

G24 DO NOT KNOW THAT YOU WERE THE DRIVER

all they know is that THE HIRER/LESSEE DETAILS were passed on by the company

    you wont get a "summons"

in Scotland its a simple procedures court case in your sheriffs equivalent of our small claims court (MCOL) here in E & W

as that is a civil matter, it should not affect your job , so I think you are mistaking this matter with a criminal or traffic law matter (which it isnt)

the NEWBIES faq sticky thread explains the hirer/lessee/keeper scenario where edna basher explains it all, plus it is Scotland (and even here in E & W g24 DO NOT TRY COURT in the small claims court)

complain strongly to Wickes and insist that the matter is dropped by them cancelling it with G24 , that is your best option and I have no idea why people dont go straight to the source and complain to the landowner or retailer direct

Please switch off your 'Smart Punctuation' on your iPhone/iPad to avoid the littering of your posts with !!!55357;!!!56397;!!!55356;!!!57339; and the like, as every apostrophe and some other punctuations convert to exclamation marks and numbers.

Go to 'General' > 'Keyboard' > 'Smart Punctuation' and flick the switch off.

Switching off seems to have no detrimental affect on any other use of the keyboard.

G24 don't do court in England and Wales where the process is a heck of a lot easier than Scotland for them.

The chances of a single ticket in Scotland going to court would seem to be incredibly slim.

Is this automatically true though in an employer/employee situation? How do we know the employer hasn't told the PCN that their employee Joe Bloggs was the driver that day?

Because companies are unable to say, with certainty, exactly who was the driver at that time. they are not a witness, so even a job sheet isnt proof.

As well as complaining to Wickes, you need to appeal the PCN to hook G24 firmly in your direction as lessee, so they CANNOT write to the employer firm again.

Wickes should cancel it easily. If not, try again, you haven't moaned enough/at the right Manager.
