    Hell I think my hubby would tell me where to go if I started separting finances we get married for better or worse and marriage to me is worth more than a bit of disposable income!

    Mattfiona - I would try phrasing things differently, like you would a child give him choices with the disposable income rather than you can't or we shouldn't it is very hard to rebel when you have no barriers.

    I am amazed that someone would advise put money before marriage! Guess I must have the right husband, we may be poor, we may struggle but we do it together and that keeps me warm at night!

    Thank you very much rayday2 - I think you really understood where I was coming from which is appreciated! - I would never put money before my marriage that's why I just wanted some advice on how to resolve it peacefully and happily - as I said, my husband is not doing this maliciiously - he just doesn't think! We'll manage though and will get through it!

    * 0% Virgin Credit card with £1,800 (we needed a holiday...!)
