The email from Plusnet (Youview TV) declared BT Sport App for £1.99p per month for 6 months and than a fiver a month on a rolling monthly contract. Sounds too good to be true and it is!

I clicked the button in the email to sign up and I then logged in and got:
Unfortunately we are unable to add the BT Sport App onto your account. Please call on (censored) and we will look into this for you.
It turned out that in order to get the BT Sport App I had to subscribe to the BT Sport channel pack and HD at a cost of £5 and £3 per month respectively. So in total it's £9.99p per month for the first 6 months and then £13 per month in addition to my existing subscription to get the BT Sport App. Previously the BT Sport App was included with the BT Sport channel pack and HD channels for a total of £8.00p per month.

Has anyone actually fallen for this?

Sounds like a c**k up by PN Marketing. You can get a deal if you are just a PN broadband customer but obviously NOT if you are already signed up to PN TV.

I've had the BT Sport app for 6 months for £2.50 pm, due to go up to £5 pm - casts reliably via the Chromecast to main TV.:)

Yes, I've seen the deal of the BT Sport App for £2.50p which is just 51p more than the £1.99p offered by the email but as you say it doesn't apply to me because I already subscribe to Plusnet Youview TV and have the basic packs plus the Entertainment Plus package.

When I phoned them to find out why I cannot have the BT Sport App added to my account and waited over an hour for my call to be answered they go into their sales spiel of adding the BT Sport Channel pack and HD in order to get the BT Sport App for £1.99p. BUT the BT Sport App is still listed in their web site blurb as free with BT Sport channels.

None of this is mentioned in the email I received nor on their web site. The simple information on their website is that the BT Sport App is available to Plusnet Broadband customers.

It is therefore most definitely a con. I still have time to get rid of Plusnet due to their price increase on June 5th and I might do that. This latest episode has kinda taken the shine off Plusnet.
