Back when I was young and fit and never put on weight, I used to treat myself to a humungous slice of blackcurrant cheesecake every Friday. It was the proper baked Jewish cheesecake and just tapping these words in is making me hungry.0

Somehow I don't enjoy baked cheesecakes, nor those set with gelatine (Italian?). The reason I like blackcurrant as opposed to any other sort is because the tartness of the blackcurrants offsets the sweetness of the cheesecake. It's a perfect balance.
