No you are not doing anything wrong.
As you have seen it is not a matter of entering hundreds of competitions and waiting for the prizes to arrive but just luck (In most cases).
I won one decent prize last year nothing at all this year so far.
However if you don't buy a lottery ticket you won't win the jackpot.
Treat comping as a hobby - great when you win but don't get too downbeat when you don't - the next win is probably just round the corner!0 -
Just don't expect to win every comp you enter. Its literally the luck of the draw.
There's loads more people entering competitions nowadays compared to say 5 years ago so the odds are defo against!
Just use the comping mantra "enter and forget"0 -
The only thing you are doing wrong is expecting to win competitions. Everyone else thinks the same so like the lottery it is a gamble that you may be lucky or not. Stupid question...0

Well done on your wins, I'm sorry that you haven't won anything else but lovely wins!
Unfortunately not everyone can win and some people have more luck than others.
All I can suggest is enter as much as you can, on as many platforms that you can, don't be too selective on what you enter but make sure you can have a use for it or gift it etc.
There are lots of competitions that come up that are win 1 of 100 or 1 of 5000 etc. So you have more chance of winning those.
I get most of my wins from Facebook and Gleams.
I never have much luck on Instagram or Twitter.
If you search on social media platforms some of the following hashtags then you can find lots of competitions that haven't been posted before too and have low entries, which gives you more of chance of winning.
#UKgiveaway #win #winme #giveaway #competition #freebiefriday #winitwednesday
Make sure you only enter competitions once if the competition only allows you to, so enter using one site preferably or do a search before you enter, especially if it looks familiar.
Search for local competitions in your area, you are more likely to win and they are more likely to have less entries if it is a collection only. Most shopping centres do competitions that require collection.
Effort competitions tend to have less entries too, as they require a little more effort.
Here are some platforms you might not be apart of.
Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Rafflecopter, Gleams.

Some great advice in this thread - thank you! I'm new to comping and looking to develop it as (hopefully) a good hobby with a few nice treats now and then!0
