What am I doing wrong?

Hello, I was looking for some advice. I started entering competitions around 3 years ago. I entered around 50-60 competitions daily (none on Facebook/Twitter/social media, as i don’t have any accounts) for around 18 months without a win so I lost interest. About a year ago I thought I would give it a try again, and am entering all competitions again (apart from social media) and still haven’t won a bean. I don’t know if I am just mega unlucky or if I am doing something wrong? I am only entering each competition once.

Having browser on here I see some people win weekly prizes, and get a good haul most months, and after 2.5 years not winning a thing I am thinking I must be doing something wrong?

Doubt your doing anything wrong, just unlucky.

Check your email address is valid in your form auto-fill settings, make sure you actually check it for wins before deleting spam.
Maybe try setting up a new email address hotmail / gmail and give that a go for a while.

Nothing too compy ie, Iwanttowinthisbloomincompetition@hotmail, something with your name will probably be good

ie JimmyJones143@hotmail (or whatever) and just use that for a while, see what happens

I set up an email address for comping before I started. It is just my name and age, so isn!!!8217;t anything compy. I don!!!8217;t know what you mean by form auto fill? I enter my details manually. I often get confirmation emails to say I have entered the competition, or emails to say I have been unsuccessful but not one measly win. I am trying to stay positive.

Most of my wins come from Facebook and Gleams.
Some days I only enter 1 or 2 competitions, other days I can spend hours entering competitions. I generally get 2-10 wins a month.
I only enter the mag dailies once and have one once from them.
I generally only enter Gleams once too.
I used to get loads of wins via Goodreads (if you like books they are fab)
It is very rare that I get a win via Twitter, Instagram or Pinterest but I've had the odd win from them.

Some people win multiple times daily, others nothing for months, don't give up if you enjoy it, I know if must be disheartening not to win but every win is a bonus to this hobby. I wish you the best of luck!

Winning a competition is literally the luck of the draw.

There's wayyyy more people entering competitions nowadays compared to a few years ago (i always blame the media who make it out to be a get rich quick kind of thing).
So the odds are always stacked against you, just enter and forget and carry on with your day.
A win isn't guaranteed but if you think its getting too much take a break totally for a while and come back fresh

I must say I enter competitions from latest deals website as I find it is an easier layout to follow. Previous to that I entered from hotukdeals but that seems to have gone way downhill to what it used to be like.

You could also set up some Tags on your emails to filter into a separate inbox any emails containing certain words or phrases. For instance I have "Congratulations" and "you have won" and a few others set up to go into a 'winning' inbox and they automatically get stared. Granted most of them are rubbish, but it's less to Check through and means if I do have a winner I'm less likely to miss it.

I enter loads of competitions, sometimes I have a lucky Flurry, but I don't win Loads, slight more unlucky than lucky, but as others have said, I use to win a lot more 5 years back and probably entered less!! Just keep plodding!

I enter about 1500-2000 competitions a month and have won 9 so far this year, but in the 2000's I had a 3 year period of winning NOTHING at all. Very demoralising but if you persevere the odds will eventually bring the rewards. Keep going and good luck.

you didn't mention if you do the mag dailies, they are often the source of my wins.... worth a go

I have never done a daily mag win before. I don!!!8217;t think they appear on the website that I have been entering competitions on. Is the regular competitions forum where I would find a link for that??

Another question I was going to ask is has anyone had any success with the capita/capitalxtra/heart competitions?

They are on the main board but all in one place in regulars.
