I agree they were to blame. Don't forget to blame them for World wars, Yorkshire Ripper, Jack the Ripper, etc. Why not when they can't even perform a simple IT upgrade ?
The adjective 'simple' does indeed spring to mind frequently when reading these threads, but rarely in the context of the IT upgrades.... :)

Why admit its your fault when there is someone else to blame. The publicity around TSB probably means they are more of a target, so fraudsters will state TSB when they may have just stated any random bank in the hope that because of all the news they will be believed - especially if the victim is having a hard time access their details.

Just reading this and would like to ask - this happened to my wife and she complained to TSB and they paid her £150, if this wasn’t their fault (which I can’t see it is?), why did they do it?

I opened an account (manually) with them in October. I've never had a single issue or problem with TSB. Always had friendly and useful staff, no technical problems or otherwise.

Frustrating for those who have had problems but it's also important for those of us who have had great service to say so too.

What was her complaint? That she received a fraudulent email from a third party? Or that she had difficulties using her account during TSB's 'IT meltdown'?

Apologies. She received multiple texts saying her account with them was overdrawn but she’s never had an account with them.

Why would they have offered the £150?

Can anyone help with this, please?

Likewise I opened an account with them at the end of January 2019 and I've never had an issue either.

Very helpful staff in the branch. :T
