Student Loans Company will only Fund my 2nd and 3rd Year

Hi all,

I am starting University in September, BSc Paramedic Science. I have previously studied at higher education and achieved and HND, with funding. I recently received an email, from the Uni, stating that if I had studied at this level before then I may not be eligible for student finance. As stated in the title of the post this is kind of the case.

It is because I the Paramedics cause is not part or member or the Allied health partnership, therefore is not exempt from this funding restriction.

Maintenance loans are not affected. I am entitled to them for all three years.

My question is, Does anyone know of any loans/grants/help that I could apply for to get me through the first year of the course?

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
