If repaired properly but thats likely to cost more than the cost of a non cat S car by the time you have hired/bought the equipment or paid someone to fix it properly.

Crash bar, who needs that (not me i wont be driving it) Glue the front end on with some silicone. Should hold if they drive carefully.

Bent chassis rails and it scrubs the tyres, stick some cheap ones on it and the buyer wont notice.

So does this mean that if it is repaired properly it may worth buying a Cat S car? ( I just found a 2014 corsa for 1500 -cat S)

Is ANY 2014 Corsa worth £1500?

Insurance classification is a mess and you cannot rely just on the letter it got. See two examples below, both cat S. But I would have no issues with fixing Polo and driving it... There is a website out there which shows you pictures of the damage if the vehicle was written off. They don't have all cars but coverage is quite good. They also expose cars which are completely clear on HPI when they shouldn't. There was an article about it all in AutoExpress recently.
