Why Aren't People Joining Ebid?

Well, I hadn't really heard of ebid - so after reading your post I went there, registered as a buyer and bought a book I had been looking for and it only cost me £1. Result!!! The same book on ebay sells for a lot more so I am well pleased.

well purely becuase of this thread i have just gone and had a look at ebid. First of all the website wouldn't load, then when i did get in it crashed twice saying it can't find the server. Not a good start.

First thoughts are the design looks basic to say the least, i found it most of the prices pretty much the same as on ebay if not higher and there were a lot less items for sale.

So my question is this - when the price is the same and they have less for sale why would i want to register on there?

Also there are very few people on there in the categories i was look at that had any worthwhile feedback so it would be more risky buying off there.
