I have 2 us bank accts- one with HSBC opened here, and one with BOA opened in the USA while I was there.0

My 2 pence:
1. if you are physically in the US, BofA or Wells Fargo will be happy to open an account for you. BofA was interested in my Social Security Number (2 years ago), although, while Wells Fargo didn't ask for it (3 years ago).
2. Transferwise recently advertised on MSE will give you a US account number
3. I would stay away from Revolut as it seems to change too often for my taste (e.g. happily used it in September, but having issues now...)0
