M&S is 2% for the first three months I believe.

    It's an HSBC card.

Why do you believe? Have you a link to this offer?

By M&S do you mean Marks & Spencer?

Usually M&S='Marks & Spencer'. However there is no anything about this on their website  .
May be Phonix means Morgan Stanley? Their offer is similar. However, HSBC definitely does not own Morgan Stanley.

Yep, that's what I thought. M&S to me suggests Marks and Sparks.

M&S has been used interchangeably here to mean Marks and Sparks and MorganStanley as well (no "&" in MorganStanley as far as I am aware).

Perhaps the original poster can clarify what he meant by this little acronym?

I applied for the amex blue card on the understanding that for the first three months it would be 2% cashback.

Received it yesterday after a months wait!!

Did it through greasy spoon so got my £17.50 cash back but no mention whatsoever about 2% for first three months?

Just 0.5% which seems pretty crap to me.

Was this a limited offer does anyone know?

For those still wondering, I meant Marks and Spencers.

Normally I'd have posted a link, however, I was in quite a hurry as my late follow up to my post shows (i'd forgotten about it, which is rare).

Also this information was given to me by a friend who at the time had applied for the card after searching for cashback cards so I apologise if it wasn't accurate.

I believe you need to try and be civil JL, as I would do to you. Bearing a grudge as you are is very childish and I know this point will not have escaped you.

Fair point, they [Conran] guarantee 0.8%, but they have always given 1%.
I had read on here that they were cutting the rate (presumably the guaranteed rate) to 0.5% :( . Can anyone confirm if this is actually happenning?

If you have a Sky subscription the Sky card seems as good as any -- 1% cashback but you need to spend it on Sky subs etc. If you're with Sky you'll be paying a minimum of £200 a year to them for the privilege, and I can't see too many people spending much more than £20K on a CC each year. If you spend say 10k on a card that's £100, that'll pay for a couple to several months of Sky subscription which, as you're paying for it anyway, is effective 1% CB as you just set the subscription money aside.

I was being civil - I was genuinely interested as I thought it was an offer I had missed.
