Your designated purposes of credit cards (for those who have 2)

1) John Lewis card for vouchers and I expect good customer service should a purchase go wrong. This is my main spending card.
2) Post office card for use abroad or buying over the internet from reputable suppliers abroad.
3) First Direct card for 'contactability' and good customer service should I expect a purchase go wrong. This can include foreign transactions where I suspect something may go wrong. Just in case. By 'contactability' I mean I can phone FD using easily remembered pieces of information as I am an account holder. I don't need to remember/know my card number nor any password. And I can do this from anywhere in the world.0 -
1. Virgin Atlantic credit card to collect miles to change into Virgin Holiday vouchers
2. Halifax Clarity card for overseas spending
3. Nationwide Select card for overseas spending
4. Tesco credit card for household shopping, points are changed into Virgin miles
I have got others but I keep meaning to close them as they aren't used.0 -
I've got 4 credit cards and use them every month so that I have 4 direct debits for my Vantage and Reward account.
I've got used to buying a pint of milk once a week with each of my 4 credit cards.
This is so I get cashback from my Santander 123 account with my utility and council tax bills.over 73 but not over the hill.0 -
BA Amex for most purchases
Tandem for places that doesn't accept Amex!
Santander Zero for overseas large spend
HSBC Credit as final backup0 -
Santander 123 cashback card as joint main card with DH and used for all fuel, supermarket spends and department stores. Paid in full each month. £3 fee with £6 on average cashback monthly.
John Lewis as my personal credit card used for all other spending with vouchers as rewards. 1)First direct one with 8k limit . Currently getting close to paying off a balance I transferred on to it . Once that is paid off it might get used for the odd purchase but nothing too wild
2)Barclaycard freedom rewards 7k limit . Currently use this to buy petrol groceries and other items every month then pay off in full to earn some rewards points .
3)tesco clubcard . no balance not in use . 3k limit .
4)MBNA platinum £6k limit . Opened a few months ago to transfer balances to and pay down .0 -
