Contact with Estate Agent (Selling)

Options
How much contact with your estate agent should you have?

I have had my house on the market since mid March - I choose the estate agent I am with due to them marketing the property I was keen to buy (unfortunately this has now been sold before I could get a buyer).

I have had 5 viewings on my property in that time and the only time I hear from my estate agent is in an email (rarely phone) to advise on a viewing.

I have had to chase them for the feedback.

I was just wandering how much communication others get and do I just have high expectations of my estate agent.

I was thinking that they would give me a weekly call for a catch up or even a discussion about price etc.... nothing!

Mine called to arrange viewings and always called a day or two after the viewing even if no feeback was received. Apart from that I called them to ask price and options to get more interest.

If there is something you want to discuss, you can call them.

Maybe ask them how the market is in general, whether they are getting offers on similar properties, whether similar properties are getting more viewings than yours, etc.

But often an EA's recommendation will be that you need to drop the price to get more interest (and they may frame their answers to your questions accordingly).
