Hi all
there is alot of information out there about the cost of buying a house but please could someone point me in the direction of how much it costs to sell a house.
for example, if i was selling a house at £140,000, what would it cost me to sell it? I am thinking in terms of estate agent fees, solicitors fees and any other fees that i obviously dont know about because these are the only two i do know about !!
many thanks:beer:

Good morning: It has cost us less than £900.00 (solicitor's and estate agent's fees)...we have used an online conveyancer and Housenetwork 3 times over the past few years and have saved lots of cash:D

It cost us around £4,000 but that was buying and selling. That was for estate agents fees (around 1%-2.5%< always negotiate) around £900 in solicitors fees and £400 in searches etc.... valuation fees were around £500. However we used the equtiy in our house so apart from around £600 upfront we didn't really feel it, obiviously if your only selling it would be a lot cheaper HTH SharronSometimes your the dog, and sometimes your the lampost..:p0

Be careful when budgeting for solicitors fees. The fee just covers the work that the solicitor does - in addition, there may be other charges e.g. Land Registry fees and these are added to the solicitors bill as "disbursements".
Approx £1k to the solicitor, which should cover the disbursements too.
Approx £2k to the EA - but negotiable (£2k is a fee of 1.5%)
Removal costs? Depends what you're moving and how far - could be another £1k
Then there may be costs to plan for with your new property - whether you buy or rent.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
Hello
Not including stamp duty our total fees are coming to over £5000
We got a fixed fee estate agent £1900
An online conveyancer £1500
Our fee for arranging the mortgage £600
We haven't decided on which survey to go for a homebuyers one or just a mortgage one. estimate £1000 - is that too much???0 -
Hello again...forgot to mention, if your property has 3 or more bedrooms, you will require a Home Information Pack (HIP)...see more here... http://www.homeinformationpacks.gov.uk/consumer/
