Planning a few days away end June/early July. Will be travelling by coach so no issues with need somewhere cheap to park. Never have been there (only to Metro Centre).so want central located
Will be travelling alone as well.
Also what is the best public transport ticket to buy if I need one?

Transport information; although you can walk to most places in the city centre:-

There's a Travelodge right in the city centre, near the river, that we stayed in a few years back - not sure what it's like now. At the time we were a bit apprehensive as the reviews said that it was quite rowdy as used by a lot of stag & hen parties but we got it very cheaply (it was in the old days of the Travelodge sales) and were pleasantly surprised. It was very convenient for the centre.
(We've also stayed in at the Whitemare Pool one further out , which would be no use to you as you really need a car to get to/from it)
Not sure about Premier Inns0
