I'm not sure if this is a scam or not as you don't pay any money up front. I have been recommended a web site called 500 pounds and 500 pence. You get paid to visit web site for a least 60 seconds and then you get paid £5. When your account have £500 you can be paid out through Paypal. This sounds to good to be true, has anyone else heard of it or used it.

I haven't heard of this so am unable to offer advice. I would say though, that being paid £5 for a 60 second visit does seem too good to be true and is unlikely to be correct?
Edit: Found this on another forum.......

Yep heard of it, it's discussed on the referral forum somewhere. It's defiantely a scam as the figures just don't add up and gigacash offers $100 or $200 per email.0

I know that you were being helpful here, but I clicked on this link and got infected with the Aurora pop-up spyware program from the linked site. It's taken me nearly two hours to try and get rid, and I ended up having to do a system restore. It's the first spyware that I've had in months, so I know where it came from.
Anyone else, please be warned, as it is annoying to try and remove (Spybot & Adware didn't work)."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
I'm really sorry mrcow, if the link I posted was responsible for the spyware prob you had.
I have removed the reference to the site just in case.
I've just scanned my pc and it's clear which I was surprised about since I clicked on many links on that site. I would have thought that if the site had a spyware issue, then I would surely have a problem too given the length of time I spent clicking around on there. Maybe just luck of the draw I guess?
Glad you seem to have got shot of it though.
Edited to add: Forgot to say - thanks for warning.....I wouldn't have realised there was a problem otherwise.Herman - MP for all!0 -
No no no - please don't apologise! I was just warning in case anyone else got caught out too.
It's fine as I just restored it to this morning's settings and all is back to normal again. I run Firefox, so never normally have pop-ups, and this one appeared as soon as I clicked on the link (and then kept coming back with Jamster adverts of all things every few minutes), so it just caught me out."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."

Thanks for the warning actually as I hadn't as yet downloaded adaware, spyblaster etc to my laptop and I clicked on the link earlier.
As a result I am busy downloading them now although I didn't have any problems with clicking through to the site, also using Firefox.0
