Flights to Hawaii

Looking at the second half of October 2008... can anyone advise when would be the best time to buy tickets, and who the best rates are likely to be with?

Thanks...

I would say get them as soon as they are out (11 months normally). We went with ANZ. Ring a few of the companies listed every weekend in the paper. Airline Network and Dialaflight for example, find the cheapest. Look out for CC charges.

have a look at united vacations/funway you can stop over in california for free which means you dont have serious jetlag (thats from experience) and normally the rates are pretty good
  • depends who you fly with... I booked with continential and they have really good connections from new york. So if you go from a regonal airport they fly from it will mean 2 flights instead of 3 with many other airlines.

    Thanks, everyone... that's really helpful.

Out of interest, what can I expect the fare to be, per person. Around £500....??? Or, to put it another way, what would be a good price to get?

I'd be surprised if you could get a return to Hawaii for £500 to be honest. As an example Continental flying Bristol - New York - Honolulu for September 08 is £650 return. As you want to fly second half of October, half term will bump the prices up even more.

Browse www.united.com www.aa.com and www.aircanada.com over the next few weeks to get a good feel of routes and prices.

The jet lag will be tough so strongly recommend stop overs.

Also look at airlines that fly from your preferred UK airport.

I paid £650 from belfast to hawaii and it was £200 cheaper than anyone else.
