Student Loan payment abroad

Hello, Hoping I can ask for some help here
I currently have a Plan 1 student loan since graduating in 2006, I have rarely earned enough to repay this loan, maybe only paying back a few hundred pounds since.
In 2015, I went overseas for 4 months to work for a Swiss company, I wasn't aware that I had to inform SLC of my time abroad, and made no contact with them, I am concerned now that my full loan balance amount may be demanded or the default repayment rate of £344 may be applied even though I am back in the UK?
is anyone able to suggest what the best course of action to take may be?
