Quick question - we are moving house on Thursday so am wondering if you can ask to change electricity supplier before you move or do you physically have to be in? I imagine it takes few a few days to set up from the supplier end. Sorry if this is a stupid question!

You can ask as soon as you own/rent the place. They don't care about where you are physically.I am not a cat (But my friend is)0

Don't forget to take your final meter readings when you move out; and readings when you move in and ring the present supplierNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

There is the little matter of meter readings. Also bear in mind that you will be on Deemed Contract terms with the existing supplier until the transfer goes through. This can take anything from 17 to 35 days from application to switch.0
