I have just realised that whilst accounts and balances may be 30 days out of date, searches are instantly updated. Hence, if a bank sees two hard searches in quick succession from their applicant they may regard this as a negative factor irrespective of the outcome of those hard searches.

In practice therefore, if it is only the hard searches that give immediate information then the subject will already know that they may have hard searches that could jeopardise their latest application.
  • Actually your all wrong..they can be different and have been.

Your assuming the CRA simply send over the data and the free reporters copy and paste for want of a better phrase.
As ive found out they dont and the free reporters can and do input data incorrectly...sometimes by thousands of pounds different, which can and will have an effect on your credit worthiness as again i found out.

Uncommon maybe..but worth watching out for.

I have never found my data to be incorrect but I continue to keep an eye on it just to be on the safe side. I currently use all of the free ones just to ensure that there are no errors.

My main concern is identity theft but I also like to know that my credit reports on all three CRAs are accurate so if I need credit that this will not be a stumbling block.
    Actually your all wrong.

Are you sure that we are all wrong?

I generally pride myself on not being wrong whenever I can. :)

The third party reporters pull data from the main CRA's database.

If they then interpret and display it wrong, that makes no odds, as the info with the CRA is the correct info and what lenders see and use. Not the one by a third party.

Just logged in to my MSE Credit Club account which shows my Experian credit report as last updated on 12/05/2018. It is therefore quite interesting to see that four of my accounts were last updated on 13/05/2018.

Is it MSE or Experian that can see into the future?

I have this interesting thing as well on my noddle report.

I opened an SIM account on 7 Apr. On the report, the account was updated on 1 Apr.

    Wrong again.....

When the lender is the 3rd party it makes a big difference.;)

They look at the data the CRA!!!8217;s hold - not the data by the likes of clearscore or otherwise that may be incorrect

I think we just need to accept that we are all always wrong. :)

Was rather tongue in cheek...however yes stating that the free CRA just report what they are given is ummm well hmm wrong lol

Credit Wise uploaded details about historic CCJ"s being 100 times the amount they actually were (they agreed the amounts given to them was correct yet they inputed the wrong amounts),jumped for £251 to £25100 which was a surprise, and who does Capital one use for credit search..yes there own systems and i know that as the nice lady told me they use there own.

And after disagreeing with mr dexter yesterday i thought id best check my credit wise and low and behold its wrong AGAIN..ive now got Arrears showing on my account and when questioned them about it the nice over sea"s chap said its due to default in 2010 (that would be Bankruptcy then) and the balance is still owed and needs paying.

Ive had multiple cards with capital one...never had an issue until they started the Credit wise site...now they are reporting fictitious nonsense.

Still will cost them money just like last time..and as no one believes the Free CRA are checked...might as well just roll a nice fat spcie cig and let you get on with it..lol
