Hello,
I am getting the error message:
The User Profile Service failed the sign-in. User Profile cannot be loaded
I have searched for a fix but they require an Admin profile - it is the admin profile which is not working
I can use the computer using another profile but cannot get the "hidden" admin profile to work - as it seems to require me to run cmd in Admin mode...
Can anyone help me escape from this cycle of frustration?

use you Windows 10 Recovery Drive to get you in and also try to restore from a recovery point, or restore from a backup, or re-install all over the os again but you may loose your apps0

Hi, don't worry - we can get you sorted ..
Firstly, please clear a few things up so I understand exactly what the issue is ..
First, you say it is the admin profile that is not working - now do you mean the built in "administrator" account, or an account you have created , that has admin rights ?
Second , have you logged in successfully using this account before ?
If so, was it whilst using windows 10, or previously before an upgrade from win7 or 8 ?
Last question , are there just these 2 accounts on the computer ? ie the one you cant log into, and the one without admin rights that you can log into ?
Feedback on the above and we will fix you up

It's an account I have created with admin rights

Yes, have used for a couple of years, was an upgrade from Win7. Upgraded to W10 some time ago but this problem occurred following the latest W10 release
Last question , are there just these 2 accounts on the computer ? ie the one you cant log into, and the one without admin rights that you can log into ?
There is the admin one I can't log into plus 2 other without admin rights
Feedback on the above and we will fix you up

Thanks for your reply and for any help you can provide - answers above. At work now but will check in again this evening at homeNot even wrong0 -
Ok, first activate the administrator account (the built in one)
To do this , click in the search box, type CMD, and then RIGHT click on "command prompt"
Then choose "run as administrator"
You will be asked for a username and password - provide the username and password for the admin account that you cant log into
This should result in a black box on the screen.
In it, type the following
net user administrator /active:yes
and press enter
Now reboot your computer, and choose "other user", type administrator for the username, there is no password.
Let us know once you have logged on in this manner0 -
Thanks. I have now successfully logged on as AdministratorNot even wrong0

Ok good.
Now you can create a new admin account, and copy all the files from the old profile to the newly created profile
Tell me if you need assistance doing that.,
Alternatively, we can help you fix the old profile.
This will involve editing some registry keys if you are comfortable with that ..
Let me know which0
