    What's wrong with:-

"Please don't forget your change, which is dispensed below the scanner."

Notes and coins come from different places, the coin tray is easily visible and to the side while the note slot isn't so easy to see. I imagine it's in response to people not being able to see their notes.

And, on some tills, it does actually say 'notes are dispensed beneath the scanner' .

Not an announcement but when you tell someone that you are off on Holiday and they automatically ask " Ohh , anywhere nice ? ".

Not an announcement, but a sign outside Boots' opticians:

"Eye tests available today! Subject to availability."

Guess which part was in small print...?

I was surprised to discover the peanut butter I bought from Asda recently may contain traces of nuts.

Aren't peanuts legumes rather than nuts?

Not exactly an announcement, but a phrase used on these boards :

"I didn't want to read and run"

Who cares?? Either post or don't post!

They really aren't. And in fact lincroft is right, they are legumes, Arachis hypogaea (peas are Pisum sativum, which are also legumes).

Peas are legumes. As are lentils, chickpeas, beans, lupins etc , oh and peanuts.

Nut allergy and Peanut allergy are different so a warning of "may contain nuts", on peanut products is valid and important.
