That is so that if the defendant does agree the claimant is owed a certain sum then the case will only continue on the sum the claimant disputes.
(eg were the claim to be for £1000 of goods not paid for, and the defendant has withheld payment on £600 because £400 worth were damaged, then defendant agrees the £600 is owed and disputes the £400)

This logic makes sense, does that also mean that even after the court even if the defendant loses the case the sum may be less than that of £930? Since I fail to see any good legal reasoning to win the case. And since the keeper has received the county court claim form, is going to court inevitable?0 -
Yes. You challenge all costs you don't agree.
