Black horse

Hi im looking for a bit of advice.
In 2005 i started my own business so bought a van. The local car dealer told me i should take out ppi incase of illness or injury.
Then when the news of ppi came out i checked and found i wasnt eligable as i was self employed.
So i sent a letter to the finance company ( black horse) who replied that it was sold by the car dealer so i had to claim it from them and that the case was closed their end.
I fell ill shortly after and never followed up on it. Its been a few years now am i still ok to claim it back and if so from who the car dealer or black horse, thanks in advance.

You complain to whoever sold it to you. You don't claim it back.

Do check though whether it covered you as self employed. Most policies did. It's a claims company myth that they didn't.

The finance company didnt sell it do you. So, they are not liable for the actions of someone not employed by them. They were correct and you should complain to the dealer.

Why didn't you simply send your letter to the dealer who sold you the van (and the PPI)?

If it was because the dealership are no longer trading, you should refer your complaint to FSCS.

Are you sure the PPI didn't cover you, though?
