Planet Talk/Primus routing problems

We have primus saver option 2 on our line. This evening when trying to make a call a message says something like "Unable to make your call at this time".
I phoned Planet Talk customer services by routing through BT (dial 1280) first. The helpful lady i spoke to told me there were routing problems that will be resolved by tomorrow evening hopefully.
In the meantime if you dial 1280 followed by 1858 then the telephone number including area code you can bypass the problems.
Thought i'd post here as it was the first place i looked when i had probs and save Planet Talk customer services being overrun by us lot!

Why on earth are you using primus? I thought Primus sold their Minutes to people like BT (who are small in comparison...)0

Why use Primus ? Well they are a damn sight cheaper than BT, do a little research and you will see the savings you could make.
Just out of interest will dialling 1280 followed by 1858 route you via Primus ?if i had known then what i know now0 -
Yes i've seen it done. - I thought primus supplied minutes to resellers, not residential!0

Why use it?
Simple. It costs nothing at evenings and weekends when calling standard geographic numbers. The rest of time i use 1899. A few calls occassionally slip through via the wrong route when we forget to dial 1899. No idea how much i've saved this way but our total spending on phone calls in the last year has been about £25. £25 of calls to geographic numbers via 1899 works out to 500 calls - though a few of our calls were 0845, 0870 and mobile when we have to dial those numbers. I hate to think what that would cost via British Takeallyourmoney.
Yes i was told that the 1280 1858 number routes you via them in a roundabout way by avoiding CPS - although i'd only use that way if you really have to. It worked for me though.

Using sister company 18185 instead of 1899 would probaly be cheaper still.;)0 -

The cost is the same 5p connection fee at 18185, 1899 and 18185 for calls to fixed line geographic numbers. But the difference seems to be in the 0845, 0870 and mobile rates - all of which we very rarely call. I always use saynoto0870. I got a bit behind with the Heinz programme and haven't changed anything for a couple of years! Moving to 18185 instead will probably save a few pounds at most. Still i think it's time i had a review of my setup again. Look after your pennies...
Incidentally, the primus routing is now back to normal here.
