Bought 2 tyres from RAC Tyres yesterday and had them fitted at a local fitting place this afternoon.

Turned up and the guy said he received the tyres this morning but had never heard of this online tyre company and has no idea why he is listed as a fitting centre! I'm like !!!!!!! :rotfl:

Anyway, he had apparently phoned them up and they are going to pay him to fit the tyres so all was good.

Went back 20 mins to pick car up and he asked me if I had paid £89 for the tyres and I said yes, then he says he could have done the same tyres for £80. Heh

I still find it all weird how he had no idea he was a fitting centre for them.

I tend to use Blackcircles to get a quote and identify the local fitting centre then contact said centre myself for a separate quote. Invariably the "approved" fitting centre beats the blackcircles price. I would do the same for all these online tyre outfits. I've yet to find any of them that can beat the price from a local, independent.

Also worth getting them from one of the European sites and getting local garage to fit, no garage could beat the price i paid for mine, £54 delivered from Germany and local garage £7.50 each to fit, nearest price i could get from a garage was £88 for same tyres and i tried quite a few places

He would say that, after the event.

He probably meant that he could have done his budget of budget tyres for £80. I could have got cheaper from the website but these ones had better reviews and better EU rating.
