Another ebay used items sells for more than brand new!

Options
I was watching this, thought I may be able to pick up a bargain, but the finish price for this was beyond belief. People just aren't doing their research.

Total of £183.50 for this (including delivery): izettle ebay link

When you can buy 2 brand new kits for £70 each with one brand new reader alone for £46.95

Ok a few quid more expensive now (they were selling this for £60 for the dock and reader a few days ago when I checked prices).

But still it's brand new, comes with all the original bits and accessories and has 2 years manufacturers warranty.

This used bit of kit is not worth what it closed for. I have a business that supplies festivals and I pick up these used iZettle readers for £25-£30 each (dock rarely gets out up for sale so that's why I wanted it).

Why don't people do their research and figure out their highest bid before going gun ho towards the end of the auction.

People get carried away and think they are in a competion with other bidders.

I sometimes buy dolls house miniatures from e-bay. I know how much they would go for new, and know how much I am willing to bid, which could be a little over the new price for something that is no longer on sale.

However, for example, I've seen £20 items which are still available go for 3 or 4 times the new price!

Set of front brakes for my bike on ebay 2nd hand = £25
Set of back brakes on ebay 2nd hand = £25

Complete set of front AND back brakes new on Amazon = £18.33

I don't understand this at all.
