Just to let you know that if you had old loans or credit cards with Barclays and Barclaycard, they seem to have records going back to early 90's for sure.
Just won 3 claims and very happy

Good to hear you won but I'm afraid your post is inaccurate. They will hold records for the 90s for some people e.g. those with active or recently closed accounts but as per the legal requirement of the DPA (GDPR as is now) they have to delete old records that are no longer needed so someone whose account was closed a long time ago may well find they do not have records back that longSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

What you mean is that they still had your records going back to the 1990's.MrB_AKA_AD wrote: »they seem to have records going back to early 90's for sure.
It's very unwise to suppose your experience will apply to everyone else, though.
The fact is that the older the finance, the more the likelihood is that records will no longer exist. Generally speaking, only those who still have an active relationship with the Bank in question will find records going back decades.
Which isn't to discourage anyone else from trying, of course.:)0
