Software for transferring mobile phone data, contacts etc

My current phone which I'm about to replace has a broken screen which has made it unusable in the top right hand side of the display. Because of this I can't use the screen to access the phone's settings to move contacts and data from it and the SIM in readiness to transfer them to another handset.
Does anyone know a good piece of software that I can use to get access to my phones data, contacts, text messages etc so that I can transfer them to either a PC or directly onto another phone connected via USB?

If it's an Android phone it shouldn't be necessary for much of the date as it will be saved in your Google account online, and then will be downloaded to the new phone once you set up the Google account there. However, I don't believe that applies to text messages - I've just abandoned the old ones when I've moved to a new phone.0

It's an old Moto G (1st edition), moving to a G6. There's a slight, added issue in that I can't simply swap the SIM over as it's the wrong size. I need to get a nano SIM, backup the contacts and data that I want, perform a "SIM swap" (via giffgaff) then transfer the data across.
I was hoping there was some software tool for Windows that will let be connect to the phone and export all the data I need and transfer it onto the new handset.0 -
if it's an android phone then you can use a standard computer mouse to navigate the screens like your desktop;)
You just need an "OTG" adapter or micro USB to USB shim.
Use this a lot:

You phone should work with corded and wireless mice.Laters

I've come across some software called dr.fone - https://drfone.wondershare.com/android-data-recovery.html maybe this will do the trick.0 -
Sorted it now. As you mentioned, all my contacts were backed up to Google anyway so these, photos, whatsapp messages etc came across no bother. I tried the dr.fone software above but it was next to useless without purchasing it, the trial only allows a single attempt at transferring to the PC then it wouldn't allow copying the SMS data back to the new phone unless I purchased it. In the end I used the SMS backup & restore app which worked like a dream.0

Have you ever sync your Android data with Google account for making a backup? If you have, you must know that these backed up files are able to be restored back to the device. So in this case, why don't you try to sync the contacts on the original Android phone to Google Drive and then restore them to another device?
Step 1. Add Your Google Account to Your Old Android Phone
Step 2. Sync Contacts to Gmail Account
Step 3. Sync the Contacts to New Android0 -
The thread was nearly 4 months ago, and as I stated. It's sorted now.Emily_Baker wrote: »Have you ever sync your Android data with Google account for making a backup?
