DRO and credit file
Hi everyone
Just after some advice, my DRO ended on the 13th April 18
However when I look at my credit file they debts still say default they haven’t changed to settled will this happened on its own after my names taken off the register or will I have to ring or email them to get them to change it
Any help would be great
Thankyou in advance

Hi,
It is supposed to happen automatically, but some creditors are unaware of the procedure.
It can take a month or two to be updated, but if any particular creditors don’t update your file correctly, you should write and complain.

Best to take screen shots of your details on the insolvency register and of your DRO entry on your credit file, as some may ask for evidence.
Some creditors do not know the difference between a Debt relief order and debt management.
I had a lot of work to do myself to get my file updated correctly and still now, 9 months later two entries (both now subject to complaints) are yet to be marked as satisfied and closed.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
