Can't watch videos on Youtube HELP!!!

For some reason I can't seem to watch videos on Youtube anymore. When I first open the site I can view the large one on the right, but when I search for films and click on the one I want it says

Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player.

I went to Youtube help and removed my old adobe flash and restarted and reinstalled the new one - still nothing. I checked in internet options, programms, add ons that they are all enabled, now don't know what to do!!! Both my laptop and desktop have the same problem.
Any help would be very gratefully received.

Thanks for the links but didn't work. Downloaded it, and nothing different, so used uninstaller from adobe and reinstalled, and restarted pc and still no different. What I can't understand is how come I can watch the one on the main screen ok but none on any other pages.

    Any more ideas anyone?

    Thanks

  • I've had the same before, I think I did a system restore to a time before the problem started and it was okay.

  • That happened to me a while ago. Do a search for something and try watching that, that worked for me...

Re my problems watching YouTube with it stop/start/stop/start that happens at busy times - I was wondering whether updating Adobe Flash Player would help resolve this.

Only thing is - I dont know if I actually have a version of Flash Player in first place. Presumably I do - as I can get into YouTube videos??? (but when I search my programs on pc for Flash Player the only Adobe thing that comes up is Adobe Reader).

2nd question -Wikipedia article on Flash Player says its not that safe - as others can use the fact its installed on your pc to access your info - is that so?

Hit the pause button, and wait for it to download, then play it, youtube is just slow. There are some 3rd party downloaders that may speed things up, but that is the simplest solution.
